SUPPORT PROGRAM
At Aoba Japan International School, we believe every child deserves an educational experience that recognises and nurtures their unique potential. At Aoba, we are committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment where every student is valued. While we strive to support a diverse range of learners, we are transparent with families about the scope of our capacity. In line with our mission and our commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ), we work to support each student to the best of our ability within the resources available. By integrating globally respected frameworks like Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Differentiated Instruction (DI), we proactively design lessons that are flexible, responsive, and inclusive from the start. These frameworks help us remove learning barriers and empower students to succeed both academically and personally.
Our classrooms are designed to provide universal access to learning, with inclusive strategies that benefit all students. Targeted support, including small group instruction and personalised guidance, addresses specific skill areas such as literacy, numeracy, and communication. Beyond academics, our dedicated wellbeing team offers social and emotional guidance, helping students develop confidence, resilience, and positive relationships.
From our Primary Years Programme (PYP) through to the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and on into the senior years with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP) and the Global Leadership Diploma (GLD), inclusion remains a central part of our school culture and values. Senior students benefit from skill-building in research, collaboration, and reflection. Our well-being initiatives, advisory sessions, and testing accommodations provide students with academic, social, and emotional support. At Aoba, our goal is to support students in becoming thoughtful, capable individuals who are prepared to contribute positively and meaningfully in the world.
